These are the rules that deal with religion and belief debating.

The old MEI mostly consisted of Christians. Eh. So when a few people who weren't showed up and started arguing for their beliefs, it caused a bit of havoc. This havoc led to flaming, and chaos, and a bunch of bad stuff.

Eventually, it led to banning.

And it wasn't the non-Christians who got banned. Yeah, one or two of them did too, but it was the religious people who got out of hand.

So I'm relaying down the rules. We allow religion discussion here. We allow "science" discussion here. As admins, the three of us are all Christians but we have also agreed to be... indifferent when it comes to keeping the site's peace, you know? Because the three of us were there and we had to ban and PM and warn... because things got out of hand. I won't let things get out of hand again.

1) We allow friendly debate.
2) We do not allow flaming because of someone else's beliefs. We all liked each other before this topic, we were all cool with each other then, and we can stay that way. If someone joins and posts that they believe in Buddah or that we're all really spoons, or that the Force is real, we are not going to flame them because of it. Same if someone joins and is homosexual. Or as simple as aethiest or Catholic or Baptist or non-denominational or Muslim.
3) We don't allow forcefully trying to convert people to your religion either. Debate is fine. Trying to force someone to a) believe in God OR b) believe in nothing is considered harrassment. Trying to convince someone they should be gay or straight is also harrassment.
4) If someone posts and claims they are God and we are supposed to believe in you, that is considered forcable conversion and you will be banned. Wink
5) Basically, we inevitably have different beliefs. Keep it nice because of that.
