Has anyone else noticed that almost all of the movies this summer are/were remakes or sequels? When I went to see Harry Potter the other day, half of the previews were for movies based on fantasy novels. Of course they're playing to the audience, but in general it seems like the Hollywood writers are cheating. One movie is The Golden Compass, which might do okay. The other, though, The Dark Is Rising, is based on a book so precious to me I probably won't see the movie. I don't know if anyone else has read the book.

Transformers was pretty cool. Of course, I wasn't into that as a kid. Who, though, needs a live action/CG Underdog movie?

Transformers pretty much made my life. O'course, I was a Transformer's geek as a child, so it was all familiar... but I was über excited that they managed to keep the incredibly awful humor and not make an incredibly stupid movie. Megatron will forever be my hero. ^^

I haven't seen HP yet. I don't know if I can.... that was my favorite book.... but I was in the theater on opening night!seeing Transformers....

That sort've felt like blasphemy.

Nah, Transformers was great and the HP films aren't even close to being half as good as the books so no blasphemy. Wink

(Book 3 is better j00!)
